About the Artist
Maria Cabrera-Macias was born in 1956 in Caracas, Venezuela. Daughter of Spanish parents, she was influenced by the New World education and culture, while being raised under European values and traditions.
At the age of 17, she moved to Spain in order to attend Medical School at La Universidad de La Laguna, Tenerife. While studying medicine, she received private art classes, studied Oil Painting from books by master painters, went to famous Art Museums, and attended oil painting workshops in Europe .
During the early 80's, Maria moved to Dominican Republic where she received her M.D. diploma in 1982. Meanwhile, she was able to experiment with different techniques, and admire the oil paintings of Old and New World artists. It is from these personal experiences that she began to adopt her own style.
In the mid 80's, Maria moved again, this time to the United States, where she came in contact with American artists and studied early American Masters' oil paintings and techniques. During the mid 90's, she joined the Miami Art Club where she observed the techniques of artists such as Manuel Canovaca and Frank Ebra. Later she became inspired by the works of Master William Vega, and cultivated her own style as a subtle mix of realism and impressionism.
Maria's Original Oil Paintings are admired in many private collections, exhibitions and art galleries both in Europe and America. Meanwhile, limited edition prints of her original's are being collected by many Art Collectors in North and South America. She continues to refine her work throughout her dedication to Art, and offers her help and knowledge to future generation's artists at her Oil Painting Workshops and Classes .

About this New Released Oil Painting.
The center of this oil painting is The Lamb (The Agnus Dei). The Lamb represents Jesus Christ, who was sacrificed for the sins of the world. The Lamb is almost always shown with a three rayed nimbus (halo) representing the Trinity. In Revelation, no one is worthy to open the book with the seven seals save Jesus, The Lamb. The painting is inspired on an early Christian's seal found in Rome.
